10 things to do in Paris

Quand on habite Paris (voyez la subtilité je n’ai pas dit que je suis Parisien) depuis un certain temps, on ne prend plus le temps de visiter la ville comme si on la découvrait pour la première fois. Donc quand on a des amis qui viennent me rendre visite, tu deviens leur guide touristique pour un week-end. Bien sûr visiter pour la énième fois la Tour Eiffel ne vous donne peut être pas envie. Donc avec Essi qui vient de Finlande on a décidé de faire la fameuse liste « 10 things to do in Paris » qui mélange les monuments classiques à d’autre moment qui sont là juste pour profiter de Paris.

My friend here is telling me to contribute to the article, and of course I’m glad to do so. Why do I come to Paris then for the fifth time? For the good company obviously... Actually it’s the multitudes of different kind of people, beautiful buildings and parks one after another, crêpes (especially after our yesterday’s visit to a crêperie, delicious!), the energetic beat and the quiet Sunday mornings of the city of millions of people, Amélie and a host of other films, and the Eiffel Tower J. The list of reasons to love Paris just goes on and on…   

1)      Walking the steps to the Eiffel Tower

Because you need the exercise, and you know it. The view is pretty nice too. You don’t wait in a long line to get on the elevator. And of course it’s the Eiffel Tower.

2)  Getting lost in the steets of Paris and then suddenly finding yourself at a familiar place

Because of the feeling of adventure at first, and then feeling that you just got to know Paris a little bit better.

3)      Go shopping in the Printemps and take a snack in the shop restaurant

Because we don’t have the same credit card to Blair or Serena for go shopping in avenue Montaigne so Printemps it’s a good compromise. And the view in the ninth floor it’s just amazing.

4)      Walking on the Champs Elysées and shop in Virgin Megastore

Because you can by a Gossip girl DVD box there and still feel glamorous and adult-like afterwards.

5)      Drink champagne on the steps of Sacré-Coeur

Because Why not? A view at all Paris and a good bottle of Champagne, it’s just perfect, you don’t think so ?

6)      Eating crêpes

Because they are crêpes, and they taste really good!

7)      Walking by the Seine enjoying Paris plage and seeing old men play pétanque

Because beach and Paris just go so well together. And pétanque because France. And don’t forget your beret and baguette…

8)      See a street show in the parvis of the Centre Pompidou

Because after a long day of visiting monuments, museum or something else, just take 10 minutes and see a good (or not) street show it’s relaxing. And for a moment, we don’t look like a tourist.

9)      Seeing the creepy catacombes of Paris on a beautiful summer day

Because when facing the bones of fellow men gone a long time ago, you remember how short life really is, and then you can come up into the sunshine and enjoy it.

10)    Take a glass of wine in a terrass

Because it’s the perfect time to share the last gossip, to meet some people and get drunk of course.

A special mention for the tee-shirt of the waiter in the bar Les piétons (4éme) I just love it.
